Commercial break: 60s Smirnoff screwdriver ads

Mixed drinks like the Moscow Mule (vodka + ginger ale) were invented as a way of selling Smirnoff, which for several decades after its introduction to the US market in the late 1930s was the only widely available vodka brand in America. The screwdriver, too, was popularized by a protracted Smirnoff advertizing campaign throughout the 1960s.
